WHICH IS A BETTER STATE?
CALIFORNIA VS FLORIDA
Are you not curious to know the difference between California and Florida? We are going to talk the about their different beach lifestyles, the cost of living in these cities, and, of course, their pros and cons. California and Florida are great states, with beautiful views and a sense of living. I am Komal Acharya, a local real estate agent in Florida. This blog is aimed at helping you make a well-informed decision about where to choose between Florida and California!
COMMON DIFFERENCE
- In California, you will find so many outages and road channels, while in Florida, the outages and road channels are not all that much, compared to what we have in California.
- Most of the buildings and infrastructure in California are old, and they lack maintenance culture. We have a lot of new buildings and infrastructure in Florida, and the older ones are well maintained and upgraded.
- They have a limited parking lot, like the ones in California, and paid parking, while in Florida it is spacious and well organized.
- There are so many more car coffee shops in California than actual restaurants, unlike what we have in Florida.
- I was looking at real estate in California. It’s very very expensive. The average pricing there is almost 700 to 800 per square foot. Expensive, So definitely the cost of living here is too high. wise, highlike you
One interesting place in California that I would like to mention a few things about is Venice Beach. In this place, you’d find gymnasiums in good numbers, but you can’t find such a setup in Florida.
Beaches

Using the NOAA system, Florida has 8,436 miles of coastline, whereas California has about 3,427 miles. Alaska is the only state with a greater coastline than Florida. Three bodies of water encircle the Sunshine State: the Gulf of Mexico on the west coast; the Straits of Florida to the south; and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. It has a year-round beach climate with a subtropical marine climate.
About 189 of Florida’s designated beaches draw hundreds of millions of visitors annually. In 2018, Florida welcomed 124 million visitors, many of whom came for the state’s outstanding beaches. There are around 199 designated beaches in California. With 268 million visitors in 2016, their tourism business is likewise flourishing there. However, just 67 million of them were outsiders, with 75% of them being Californians.
Both states boast beautiful beaches, but according to Trip Advisor, Florida’s beaches are more highly rated. Florida took eight of the top 25 beaches on their list of American beaches, while California only received four. If you value quality over quantity, Florida’s beaches can tempt you to relocate there. However, people who enjoy a variety of landscapes might choose to relocate to California.
Mountains, waterfalls, canyons, hills, deserts, lava beds, caverns, misty woods, enormous boulders, meadows, and dunes are all available for your enjoyment. You are primarily limited to beaches, a few forested areas, plains, and wetlands in Florida. Although these areas are diverse, California has a far higher biodiversity.
Weather

No city in Florida is far from the sea since it is a peninsula. Florida’s climate is tropical in the south and humid subtropical above Lake Okeechobee. Mean peak summer temperatures in the state remain in the mid- to low 90s Fahrenheit. The typical wintertime temperature range is between the low 40s to the middle 70s. Florida typically only experiences freezing temperatures for a short period of time before thawing up.
Due to its subtropical to tropical environment, Florida seldom experiences snowfall. North Florida can occasionally see low enough temperatures and adequate humidity for snowfall. Sometimes there will be frost in the panhandle. In documented history, snowfall in South Florida has only occurred a few times because of the region’s regular high temperatures. The entire state occasionally experiences haze. The temperature in Florida tends to be more consistent overall. However, if you prefer a variety of climates and seasons, you might choose to relocate to California.
